Victorian Veranda Bed and Breakfast

As we were searching for a cute bed and breakfast near Moncton, we stumbled across the Victorian Veranda. At first, we tough it was too far from the city, but we fell in love with the place and booked a room. Located in Port Elgin, a 30 minutes drive from Moncton, the Victorian house is on the border of a river. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted by "Bear", a beautiful and playful dog. After being escorted to the house by the dog, the owner came to greet us too.
This spacious bed and breakfast is a jewel outside of the city. Located on the border of a river, its large land is home to ancient trees and beautiful scenery. As you step inside, you feel as if you went back in time; the interior is elegant, decorated in the Victorian style. The living room is a work of art in itself with its wonderful original wainscoting and stained glass window. The furniture was handpicked by the two lovely owners with great taste. The rooms, though fully equipped with the latest technology of the era, is decorated in the same style as the house. A spacious bed and a breathtaking view over the river is the first thing that you see.
We had the best of sleep and a delicious homemade breakfast in the morning. As we were eating, the owners kindly explained the history of the house and how it was restored to its ancient glory. Unfortunally, we only spent a night at this beautiful place, but we will be back for sure.
Finally, I would recommend this B&B to anyone who wishes to visit Hopewell Rock or the area.

Enjoy,

Travel Shoe Guide

During my first travels, I used to bring a tremendous amount of shoes with me. Why? you ask. Well, I'm a girl and, as a girl, I thought "what if I need all those shoes during my stay?" Truth be told, you won't need those. It will only take a huge space in your luggage. Space you could actually use for souvenirs or money you could save not paying the extra weigh fees at the airport. Think about it, this list could save you a couple of bucks and space. After a few (ahem) travels, here are the shoes I absolutely have to bring with me that won't be extras.
1.Running shoes
You probably won't work out during your vacation and it's okay, you are on a vacation. But let me tell you one thing: you will walk from one point to another, maybe even hike. What is more frustrating than having sore feet at the end of the day when you know you will have to walk a few other miles the next day? Not much. That is why your running shoes are a must when travelling.
 2.Sandals
You have a nice day at the beach planned? Maybe a dinner at a place without any AC? Bring your sandals. You might be like me at first, thinking "I love feeling the sand on my feet, I won't need any sandals" and then regretting it because your feet are full of sands and it won't fit in your running shoes anymore. So yeah, sandals. Also, they don't take that much space in your luggage, so you will have room for other things.
3.Black High-heels
Ah, heels, so unpractical on pave street, but so beautiful. I personally am a high heels lover. Black heels are everything you will need on your vacation. They are classic and go with everything you could possibly wear. You have dinner at a fancy restaurant: heels. You are going to a theatre: heels. A wild night out with your girlfriends: heels. Make sure you already worn them before using them, or you will end up crashing miserably on the floor or, more realistically, having the biggest blisters in the world.
4.Boots
The most forgotten pair of shoes. Or should I say: boots. Yes, I always bring my boots with me. They were made for walking... Anyway, I love having a pair of boots with me. Whether they are rain boots or plain black booties. During your perfect vacation, rain might come. It's okay, it won't ruin your holiday. Just put your boots on, take your umbrella and go outside. It is the way to look cute and being practical.
Hope this was helpful for you. Don't forget to have a nice vacation, no matter what you have on your feet.

Enjoy,

Auberge nuits de Saint-Georges

In june, a couple a friends, my boyfriend and I decided to go on a road trip to the Eastern Township to explore the local wineries. We established our base in the lively town of Bromont, near the famous skiing mountain. It wasn't my first time in the lovely city, so I wanted to try a hotel where I've never been to. The old town seemed like a good idea, so we tried Auberge nuits deSaint-Georges .

Squeezed between the colourful and cute houses of the old village, the red brick hotel seemed like a sturdy manor straight out of the Victorian era. As we stepped inside, I couldn't help but notice the beautiful decoration, perfectly picked to make us feel home. As a french canadian travelling in my own region, I sometime feel like hotels aren't adapted to the local culture. The Auberge nuits de Saint-Georges wasn't like that. The decor and space looked like a warm authentic french canadian cottage in the middle of a city.
As we entered, we felt immediately welcome as the host came to greet us with a warm smile on her face. She made our stay a pleasant experience and recommended local wineries based on our taste. We continued to our suite, still decorated with great taste, and headed back for further exploration.
The hotel, also offering massages, is equipped with a 4 season spa and a sauna. As we headed outside, we stumbled upon a gallery overlooking a fantastic garden near the local golf course. But the magic happens in the breakfast area where you get served a delicious 3 courses meal. A bright room with a beautiful fireplace is where you will be starting your morning every day.
If you are planning an authentic and delicious experience in the Eastern Township, I would definitely recommend the Auberge nuits de Saint-Georges. You won't regret it.
